BANGKOK! Here's my another travelling journal. This time is is about my experience to Bangkok, Thailand. Overall, I didn't enjoy myself as much as compared to Taiwan (my last year trip) but still, it is really an eye opener. I went to Bangkok from the 1st of December to the 6th of December. Just nice, it is the period where the people of Bangkok are rioting. I mean, it is pretty scary cause in Singapore you don't hear or see about riots with the exception of history and social studies textbook. So anyway, on the first day on the sunday morning, Woke up early and then went to the airport, checked in and I act smart-ass do online check in and end up still need to go counter -__- so diao! Okay, anyway did all the necessary and board plane.. blah blah. Finally when we reach Bangkok airport, we got a taxi for the 8 of us and then went straight to the hotel. On the way there, we saw the riot.. Not fully rioting but yeah the people were on the streets and all. It was pretty.. cool and yet scary. Like it is very much of an eye opener. So went to hotel and checked into hotel room, my sis and I got the bigger room.. so yeap. :D And since it was a sunday, of course we went to Chatuchak market. The journey there was.. o.o I mean it is our first taxi ride in Bangkok so we kinda got conned. Like the taxi ride costed a bomb, when it is not supposed to. Yeah, so we went to Chatuchak market, shopped quite a lot. But it is very tiring also, so went back to the hotel and then washed up before heading out for dinner. From the first night, I never enjoy life after sunset in bangkok, everywhere just seems scary and it is so dark, i feel like I can get kidnapped anytime? LIKE SOMEONE MIGHT JUST CREEP UP BEHIND ME AND GRAB ME AND POSSIBLY RAPE ME OR SOMETHING! I know probably I'm over-thinking but it is just really scary. That sums up the first day.. Second day wake up and it was suprisingly chilly. Went to Platinum Mall for the whole day and had A&W for lunch, and then i continued shopping before heading back to shower then out to the area around the hotel to walk and look for a place to eat, we couldn't find much food and then my family decided on KFC. whatever that happens afterwards i do not want to talk about it and that's the end of my day 2. Day 3, we went to Chinatown. At first we were pretty lost then we randomly walked and soon enough we found that street that we weren't exactly looking for but there's cheap stuff there so.. might as well. Walking there.. I almost died. The roads were so narrow and by narrow i mean like literally you can only squeeze at most 4 humans side by side. it is THAT narrow. To make things worse, there's constantly motors that will drive into these narrow ways and then the carbon monoxide..... CHOKE DIE ME. So anyway we got out of Chinatown took a cab back and continued the part of Platinum mall which we didnt cover the day before. Then went for dinner opposite the hotel and the food there is yummm, we ate there the next day too. Day 4, we walked to MBK cause we wanted to go to Siam Center but the people at the hotel told us that there's riot there so we cant go, so we went to MBK. We literally walked the whole distance there. don't ask me how long the distance is but yeah, it was quite a walk. Went to MBK we shop shop and then had lunch at this restaurant called MK Restaurant. It instantly became my favourite when I tried their roasted pork. IT IS DELICIOUS TO THE MAX! :D i've never seen anything like this in Singapore and I will never see anything like this in Singapore too. so eat and eat then continue to shop and then went back to hotel, yeah we didn't exactly spend too much time there. So went back to hotel and I took a nap if i didnt remember wrongly. Hahaha. woke up for dinner then went back to hotel room again. Day 5, it is the KING'S BIRTHDAY today. This also means that the riot will stop for one day. We took this chance to go to Siam center and the shopping malls along that stretch. My favourite is still Central World, at first it looks kinda atas but nah it isn't exactly that atas.. I wanted to go the aquarium thingy but decided not to cause it is too expensive.. we walk around and find music shop. WE DID! as if that's not exciting enough, in one of the shop i found a FREAKING TAYLOR SWIFT GUITAR. Yes you read that correctly TAYLOR SWIFT guitar. I tell you I literally shrieked and the people in the shop all just looked at me hahaha. I went all fangirling and all. you know...... hahha. Then we saw ice skating and all but we didn't go with it. Walked back to Platinum and then go back to hotel to rest. I was having a bad gastric... like really bad. I couldn't sleep well that night also, sigh. Last day.. I skipped the hotel's breakfast and went out to eat something else instead but I cannot remember what i ate.. hahah. anyhow, we only walked around hotel area and then stoned for like 2 hours plus watching hunger games before the cab came for us to take us to airport. then at the airport... the flight was delayed. :/ ohwellz. so I watched Turbo on my phone while waiting. It was pretty boring cause there's no wifi :( but i made it through. then flight back to singapore and here i am! I'm so glad to be back. Even though I had fun shopping but yeah. I still prefer Singapore..... I'm glad to see my friends. Hahaha. |
