Mid Autumn Festival & Photo-Taking! Firstly, I wanna apologise for the lack of updates on my blog, I have been really busy. With what? Attachment! I'm back to doing my final internship and this time is quite an experience too. I went back to my previous center which was great but I didn't take the class that I was with last year, but that's good too! Hahah :) Stepping out of my comfort zone! I guess I kinda said this in my previous post already, so I shall not repeat. Friday The 13th: I enjoyed myself very much today. It's friday and initially I planned on coming in the afternoon because that is when they will have their english class. But on thursday, the principal of the center asked me to come for the photoshoot in the morning with the classes. My first reaction "WHAT?" I even told the principal ".. but i'm not even working here!" I cannot believe I actually said that. But she was all like "aiyah, nevermind lah! Take with them and then you get to keep the photos also!" She not only asked me to take photo with the class, but also the staff photo. I mean, I feel weird, but honoured at the same time, if you get what I mean. I'm not their staff, I'm just an intern but yet she asked me to take staff photo. So in the end I came in the morning.. Well.. slightly later. The whole place was kinda already in a mess, the K2 were preparing for the photoshoot with their graduation gown and all then the rest are having storytelling and dance lesson. But when N2 (my class) finished their dance lesson, they went to play and waited for their turn. Then finally they went in and I took their class photo with them. After that they changed in class into their home clothes for their individual shot. Meanwhile, the teacher and I started snapping photos with the children because they all look SOOOO CUTE!
Here are my favourite few from all the photos that we've taken! Only the first one is the N2, the other 2 photo is the K1 :) Today also, the twins in my class decided to have their princesses and they cannot let go of their hands. They look like they are getting married. I told their teacher "Jermel and Jayel today getting married today alr" then the teacher started singing the wedding march! HAhahaha! So cute. I mean just look at them!
They really are very cute and handsome, ready to get married! Hahah! They took their photo, ate their meal and then they finally got to rest, and so do I. I've been running around the whole day and everyone is just so crazy. Surprisingly today Jermel let me lie down with him which was something unusual. He's usually the cheeky boy in class and teacher have to disturb him to make him go to sleep. But today I was like "Jermel, can teacher lie down with you?" then he nod his head! MIRACLE! Hahha, so I lie down (and honestly I wanna just sleep on the spot) and pat him to sleep. I guess they were all tired, so they slept very quickly. Most of them slept.. except for the K2. Which was my last year class. I'm kinda fine with them not sleeping but I have no idea why the teacher want them to sleep though. They should not be sleeping cause they are going to P1! Anyhow, after I was done with my stuff I started talking to Faylinn, one of the K2 girls, and then was just chatting and end up I disturb her by lying on her mattress. Then she climbed on top of me and pretended to sleep. Hahaha.
I also chat with them about Huishan which was their teacher and they all remembered her, I got them to do a video of them saying "I miss teacher Huishan" and then i put it on instagram! Hahah. Then of course I snap some really casual photo. Seems more like a photo of me and my friends.
Anyway, I was really happy that one of the girl with special needs she actually came and take a photo with me. It is such a beautiful thing and she actually took my phone and went around the WHOLE SCHOOL snapping photos. Some of which are really nice. Hahah :)
Okay, so when they are fast asleep I went home, shower and prepared for bible study and slept. Haha, then went back to bethany for their mid-autumn festival celebration. The moment I got there there are like so many cars already parked in the parking lots. And when I got there most of them are eating already, but I've already eaten at home so I just hung around and chill. Of course, snapped some pictures.
When it's finally time, I went up and got a front seat so that I can record all of them singing and dancing :) I think especially when the N2 and K1 came up to sing their Yue Liang Yuan, I almost cried. It is so emotional, like all the screaming and yelling at them to pay attention is all for this moment and they did it. A great performance. Of course the hard word is not only on the children but also definitely on the teachers. They prepared hard and rack their brains for ideas of what to do and how to get their attention when they themselves are also tired.
It was really fun, just a very very enjoyable friday the 13th I will never forget! :)
