Take a deep breathe...
Stop. Breathe in, out. Look around you. More often than never, people fail to stop and appreciate things around them. Or actually to do things slowly. Especially living in Singapore, everything is so fast-paced and quick. Go to school? Quick, deadline. deadline. deadline. Go to work? Same thing again. Sometimes I like to do things slowly, at my own sweet time. Do you know? There's several place in Korea, it is called 'Slow City' and it is part of the Slow City Movement, or aka Cittaslow Movement. It started in Nothern Italy. Basically these cities are like any other normal city, just that you do things slowly. You are not suppose to rush anything. Getting from one location to another? Just stroll slowly. To have a slow life means to really just strolling around, listening, doing nothing, daydreaming, and of course a good time to do some soul-searching. I feel that people should learn to have some 'me time'. Just time for yourself to do something you like at your own pace without time constraint... Alone. This is something that sometimes I seek for, though I kind of get this kind of time at least once a week cause I'll have non-school days and then I will be alone at home. That's when I can do whatever I want at my own time. I take peace and serenity very seriously. Yes, I'm a peace-lover. I'll do whatever to not get involved in anything that will cause unhappiness or whatsoever. Even if I am at the losing end. It's bad sometimes, really. But I just like it. Probably this is also why I want to have a getaway as soon as possible. I want to go somewhere like Koh Samui and just look out of the crystal clear water and relax :)
The picture already looks good right? Probably I just want something slower and calmer. Away from everything else.
Another thing I realized that people in this fast-paced place Singapore will never learn is appreciation. You only learn to appreciate things when you slow down, THINK. and then you suddenly see what someone else has done. Might not be significant, but if it is still something good? Affirm it. Appreciate it. For the tiniest littlest things in life. In this way, the world would be a much better place.
