Emerge Day 1!
Finally, it is the day that all the youths of City Harvest Church have been waiting for! IT IS EMERGE! YES! You guys have no idea how excited I was! But then, things didn't turn out that well for me on the first day. Firstly, I had rehearsal on the night before and it sort of make me tired already and then I didn't have a nice sleep, so I ended up with flu on Friday morning. I went to school and I told me friend "I feel like I'm going to have fever." and true enough, when I went home for a nap, I was down with fever! ): Woke up didn't feel very good, instead I felt like a zombie, but I told myself that I HAVE TO GO to the Revival Meeting and the stage run after the meeting. And so I went.. (I think that I look kind of cui here.. I was having fever and tried my best to smile...) Hall 603 was decorated into a carnival-like area with stage and very beautiful balloon sculptures. They are very very very pretty, and some of them are done by my own zone members!
This photo was taken on Thursday night when they were trying to finish up the sculptures! They have created a very beautiful 'Gardens By The Bay'! I would say that it is really impressive, the whole thing only took them 4 session! Like WOW! I'm so amazed, really! The best that I could do would be a dog, or a sword! HAHA! There were also 16 different game booths at the Game Fiesta which started at 6pm on Friday! You might be asking, what are the game booths for? I'M GLAD YOU ASKED! ;) hahaha! On every seat, inside the Emerge brochure, there is actually this small little section where everyone can participate by going to the game booths and collect stickers/stamps and redeem them for items such as Emerge badge, Emerge T-shirt or even a $5 Capitaland voucher! Besides the 16 booths, there were also 3 other 'walking stations' that people have to try to find to gain extra stickers/stamps! I call them the 'walking stations' because the people who give the stickers are actually walking around everywhere carrying their big strawboards like the one below!
Before everything, Theresa came on stage with a few other dancers and they taught us the actions of Today Is The Day! It was really really fun, although I didn't really have the energy to exactly DANCE! :/ During the Revival Meeting, Pastor Aries shared an overview of all the youth camps that were held over the June holiday by the various districts and zones. All in all, the camps impacted more than 5400 unchurched members! This is really going beyond the four walls of the church, and what impacting the society is all about. I'm sure all of you have participated in at least ONE of the iSociety project, no matter big or small, I just want to say a big THANK YOU because you have made a difference in someone's day! During the service, one of the iSociety project were also being shared, it is called the iState. What is iState all about? I'M GLAD YOU ASKED! ;) again. This group of youths basically did a fundraising carwash at Sengkang Community Club and in that one day, they washed about 120 cars and raised more than $3,300! Besides the carwash, they used the money to buy new books for the orphans at the orphanages. They went to 5 different orphanages around Singapore to give out the books. I'm sure the children at the orphanages are greatly blessed! There were also showcase of other Emerge competitions such as Your Best Shot! Once again, I've done up a video to sum up the activity of the entire Revival Meeting! Enjoy! |
